Member Recognition
Named after Rotary's founder, the Paul Harris Fellows recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation.
Since 1957, the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce has honored Mt. Pleasant's exceptional citizens. Every year in March, this community-focused event honors outstanding volunteers with Eagle Awards. The highest honor, the Citizen of the Year, is the highlight of the evening as it is a surprise to the recipient and all in attendance.

Each year, clubs are offered the opportunity to choose a "Rotary Hero." Rotary Heroes are Rotarians chosen by their fellow club members to be recognized for their above-and-beyond willingness to give of their time and talents. These individuals make their communities and their clubs better. The dictionary defines a hero as a person who, in the opinion of others, has special achievements, abilities, or personal qualities and is regarded as a role model.
In the Rotary world, these heroes exhibit "Service Above Self."
The selected Hero is highlighted at the Rotary District Conference each spring. Past recipients include:
